In 1992, founder Shihan Brad Wenneberg, a retired police officer, and his wife, Bonnie left the comfort of their successful careers to follow their dream. That dream was to open a martial arts studio.
Their family had already experienced the benefits of learning the values and principles of martial arts. They believed the wider community could benefit, too. And they were right.
The American Martial Arts Academy was not just well-received, but celebrated as one of the best martial arts studios in the country. Over the years, to meet the growing demand in our community, we opened a second studio in Placentia in 2012.
